Piet has lived for years on a farm in the polders of Krommenie. Eight years ago he learned that for a couple centuries there was a small chapel on his grounds that "disappeared" some time in the previous century.

To honor local history, he and his friends built a new chapel with the goal of turning it into a community center. Every Sunday he and a small number of people from the area get together to talk and make music.

When I cycled past, he was just getting everything ready. He told me there probably should be a cementary as well,  he’s hoping to find it so he can honor that too.
